2. Potentiality of the area and the role to be played by the society
The area falls under sub- tropical temperate zone with evergreen forest having variety of flora and fauna which is yet to be explored. The area which also falls adjacent to the golden triangle of Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam makes it potential to flourish in fauna. Wild animals move in and out from this golden triangle in the porous border, some of which are endemic to the area and are also endangered. The area also falls under one of the 12 biodiversity zone of the planet and has variety of flora some of which is yet to be known to the outside world.
Some of the flora and fauna before it is known to the outside world is getting extinct due to ignorance so the society aims to educate the people of the area to preserve and use judiciously to protect those plant and animal species so for sustainability.
3. Govt. and private Reserves under the society
There are many protected forests under Kiphire district both Government and community, one such is Fakim wild life reserve which has around 620 Ha and the Jingkhu forest reserve which has about 450 Ha coverage. In both these reserves wild life and forest wealth are in abundance, villagers and public are giving efforts to protect with the indigenous knowledge. The society can do commendable jobs to educate the villagers in preservation for sustainability at the same time open those areas for eco tourism and link up with the likeminded organization that are in the same profession.
